Financial Assistance

"I wasn't evicted and stayed in the only home my kids ever knew. God bless you." – a Fairfax County area mom who received Financial Assistance from Our Daily Bread

Due to the lack of affordable housing in Fairfax County, many of our neighbors are just a paycheck away from being in serious financial trouble and possibly facing homelessness. Anything from a medical emergency to something as simple as car trouble can set a family back for months.

This is why Our Daily Bread offers modest financial assistance to our clients in times of crisis. With the generous donations from our friends in the community, we are able to lend a hand in keeping our clients self-sufficient. Clients are referred to us by social workers at Fairfax County's Coordinated Services Planning after completing an intake process and demonstrating that the funds ODB provides to the client's landlord, utility or other relevant vendor will help them retain or regain financial stability. Often, the client and other non-profits contribute funds to create a "package" of funds that will pay off the entire bill.

  • Thank You to the generous donors to our Keep the Heat On campaign in February! We raised $6,978, helping us provide Financial Assistance to 35 additional struggling Fairfax County area families! WATCH the NBC News report.
  • Thank You to St. Mary of Sorrows Catholic Church for providing a grant that has doubled the amount of funds available to help our families avoid homelessness!
  • Thank You to the 495 Express Lanes Community Grant Program for providing a grant to our Reliable Rides program to help struggling families obtain badly needed car repairs so they can continue to get to work on time and support their families! We are also grateful to the Brake Squad, CRV Auto Repair in Sterling and Skyline Automotive for partnering with ODB to assist our clients with auto repairs.
